Visiting the library

The librarian Fiona taught us how to look after books that we take home. Some of the books she showed us had mold damage, smudges from dirty hands, chew marks and ripped pages. We can keep our books safe by keeping it in our library bags when we are taking them home.

We also found some exciting books to read.

What is your favourite book?

P. E.

Today we also had our first lesson with the P.E. teacher Mrs Heathorn. We learnt how to participate and cooperate in teams. It was so much fun playing the different games the teacher taught us.

What did you learn about being a team?

Worm farming

Today we met with Mrs Elmore who taught us how important it is recycle our food scraps. We learnt that our food scraps can be nasty if it ends up in the landfill. But the worms can turn our food scraps into good compost for our gardens.

It is our job to collect the food scrap and put it into the worm farms.

Having a litterless lunch box is a good idea if we want to keep our school clean and tidy. This will also stop plastic from getting into the worm farm.

What do we need to do to look after the worm farm?

Jump Jam!

This term we are doing Jump Jam each morning. It is so much fun dancing and doing some exercise to get us ready for learning.

Cultural Day

On Monday the Year Twos had a cultural celebration. We wanted to share the countries and cultures we are all connected to because this term we are learning about Globalisation.

In the morning everyone showed their fantastic costumes by taking part in a parade. It was great that some of our parents could come along to watch us.

In the afternoon we shared something special from our culture with our class. There were so many exciting items that people brought in.

We found out that although many people are connected to different cultures in the world we are all connected to Kiwi culture.
